A publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) with hundreds of properties nationally approached ARG to assist with streamlining and modernizing their telecommunications infrastructure. With the decommissioning of copper lines, the company faced financial and service issues.
Challenge
The customer managed a network of 140+ locations across critical metropolitan areas. With such an extensive portfolio and a significant portion of their infrastructure made up of copper POTS lines, the company grappled with several issues:

- Decommissioning of Copper Lines: The gradual phase-out of copper infrastructure necessitated transitioning to a more modern solution.

- Challenges Maintaining Compliance Requirements for Life Safety Line Services: ARG delivered a full analysis of options and a transition plan to move from traditional POTS lines to a POTS over LTE solution, including hardware logistics support, asset tracking, and cost optimization/cost avoidance capabilities. The selected POTS over LTE Solution is a fully monitored and managed system designed to connect critical communication devices such as fire alarms, emergency systems, fax machines, elevators, and voice lines to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met. This approach provided numerous benefits: cost savings, future-proofing, enhanced reliability, and improved compliance.
Implementation
