2016 will be the third year that the ARG team has participated in Wreaths Across America at Arlington National Cemetery. Those who have attended can tell you that the event is humbling. There is something about standing among the nearly 250,000 graves and walking the hallowed grounds of those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom that moves you beyond words. The energy brought by the thousands of volunteers to make sure that every grave gets attention is contagious. It’s not a loud, boisterous energy, but rather a quiet, thoughtful energy. One of determination and respect. The process involves placing a wreath on a grave, taking note of the life that person lived and a moment to silently thank that person for their service.
If you are available to participate this Saturday, December 17th, then please mark your calendars. Yes, December is busy – there is shopping to do, guests to prepare for and cards to send. The weather will be cold, but the spirit of Christmas is one of generosity, kindness and sacrifice. We encourage you to take the few hours on the 17th to pay your respects and show your gratitude to many of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Look for ARG in our matching blue hats as we participate in Wreath’s Across America for our 3rd year.
