    Pie-N-It Forward

Here are some photos from the mass pie peeling/production that I managed to accomplish in one day and on a covert solo mission. 😊

It was insane, but so much fun! Over 200 pounds of apples peeled in under 2 hours…I call that successful. It took about 2 hours on the chop/cook, then about 3 hours on the bake, box, pack, and set up for people to social distance pick up. My daughter handed them out. I had no legs by then. In all, we ended up with 74 pies!

The last batch of pies landed with the Dulles South Sheriffs Office. They were selected as the group that people wanted to pay forward their pies to. They had my pies before and were, shall we say, excited. Check out the photos they sent me today along with pictures of the pie crazy!

The pies have different degrees of doneness, with some appearing golden brown and others still pale. The apples have a pale yellowish-white color with some green and red spots.A close-up of a pile of yellow fruit peels, likely from apples or pears.

I hope next time there is no pandemic so I can get you all in the kitchen to help. This was epic and I crashed so hard Sunday night. #NoMoSolo for me!
