As you may know, Apple and Samsung are in the midst of inventory constraints related to their smartphone supply chains. This is tied to numerous factors, but COVID-19 seems to be the primary cause. It has been difficult to fully narrow the details due to the sensitive nature of the information regarding the virus. We will do our best to keep you informed any way we can. We are seeing inventory change almost hourly, so the pricing, storage quantity, and colors that were available at the time of the quote may not be available at the time of order. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Some Highlights:
The iPhone 8 has reached its end of life with all carriers and should no longer be ordered moving forward. The previous backorder of February 13th continues to push further and further out. Now, there is no longer an anticipated ship date for any iPhone 8/8+ on most carriers.
Verizon: We are seeing the iPhone XR stock depleting. Currently, there are no readily available 64gb iPhone XRs in any color and the iPhone XR 128gb is rapidly decreasing in stock. The base model of the iPhone 11 is now seeing backorder dates pushing into April. Samsung hasn’t been impacted as greatly, but the S10 and S10e inventories have started to decrease. With the launch of the S20 models, we expect to see S10 and S10e price reductions based on contract type and term.
AT&T: The iPhone XR 64gb is now seeing about a two-week backorder. We expect to see that pushed further out and supply to become similar to Verizon. The Samsung supply is beginning to become limited. With the launch of the S20, AT&T has considerably decreased the cost of the S10 5G on two-year contracts for qualified businesses.
Sprint and T-Mobile: We have not seen any major iPhone XR (or newer) or Samsung S10/S10e supply chain issues at this time.
Apple is reportedly announcing a new low-cost entry device this month. Unfortunately, Apple prefers to keep the details of their announcements close to the vest, so we do not have much more information regarding this launch.
