So you’ve moved from Illinois to LA to be a big star. All your friends back home are SOOO jealous. You’ve made it, your going to be the next Beyoncé. You’ve been working in the studio and your music is all over the internet, you’re so hot right now, every producer wants to work with you. Life must be perfect, right?
Maybe not. Rent’s probably due, your family asks for money all the time. You’re still having to pay for the recording studio time and it doesn’t look like your going to get the contract that you were promised from your sleazy promoter. Maybe it’s time to move home, especially with the boyfriends increasing gambling debts.
I’m making this up, of course. Both of these scenarios could be true, we just don’t know. To cut a long story short my eldest son put $100 in guitar case of a street performer in Santa Monica because she was funny, engaging and nobody knew that 2 mins earlier she had been crying, hunched over looking at her phone.
We constantly judge others and let our own perception get in the way of what might be the truth. It’s not always those who appear to be in need of RAK that deserve it the most.
