I live in a three-building complex and while out with the dog at 5 in the morning one of the buildings had a bunch of people coming out – turns out that the fire alarm went off. We have crazy sensitive fire alarms in our buildings so I am actually proud people got out of bed; but for many, it was obvious they were not already up. I tied Porter to the table at the door and went into Starbucks and ordered my coffee and paid for the next 10 peoples coffee. Most were very appreciative and one lady even told me she was going to ask them to let her come back to pay since she didn’t have her wallet with her. And of course the building was not on fire actually only one floor had the alarm go off – I will confess my apartment alarm has gone off once or twice from baking… thankfully not the entire floor.
