I spent every penny collected on the last drop off we will do for now. Thanks to those of you who reached out to help. I promise next time! I could not send Bo back out again on a run. I am pretty sure he is over me at this point but knows I will not feed him if he says one word. Hopefully my Pie Drive will run in the Summer and you can contribute by purchasing a pie. All $10k collected this year will go back to Non Profit organizations, sending kids to camp and providing food to families in need. It’s my favorite check to write. 😊
Together a total of $650 was collected for supplies needed to help others. Here is the breakdown of what was purchased;
- Over 500 pounds of cereal
- 200 cans of soups-assorted (Progresso brand)
- Assorted flavors of rice (could only get 40 packages)
- Pasta/Sauces (Tomato/Alfredo)-enough for 25+families
- Oatmeal-Assorted flavors-20 boxes
- Kraft Mac/Cheese-5 cases
- 200 loaves of bread
- 150 pounds of apples
- 100 additional assorted can foods (veggies/Chef Boyardee)
- Diapers/products for women
Due to limited supplies in the grocery stores, I have not been able to complete the pasta meal kits. I am hoping to get those finished this weekend. A recipe card and card of encouragement from the ARG Team will be placed in each one.
Thanks again everyone for your huge hearts and kindness! Remember to reach out locally if you are looking for ways to help. Emergency Relief Funds have been established by local non-profit organizations that will flow back into programs that benefit others. Every little bit helps. Remember there is power in numbers.
