My wife, Anne, and I were hosting a pre-Christmas dinner for family and friends on Saturday the 24th. So Anne and I ran to the grocery store to pick up a couple of forgotten items to finish off the meal. After a quick trip around the store, we got in line to check out. The person on the register met us with such a warm and friendly greeting, so upbeat for 9 am on Saturday Christmas Eve.
The young lady asked Anne if we were ready for Christmas and if we had a lot to look forward to. Anne assured her that we were ready and we did have a lot to look forward to and of course, Anne asked if she was ready too. Well, the young lady told us that she was glad the store the closed at 6 pm so she could go shopping for her family. She had been working so much, for so long that she hadn’t had a chance to get out to get her shopping done.
As I’m sure you can imagine, we were so impressed by her great attitude in what was surely a stressful time, we felt that this was the perfect opportunity to allow something good to happen for her. Anne suggested she was a perfect RAK opportunity and obviously, I agreed. We were able to share the ARG give it forward story with her and help make her day a bit brighter. We felt great after providing a pleasant surprise to a hard-working young lady, who had a great attitude that she shared with us on the morning of Christmas Eve.
