There is a program at my church that offers assistance for children and young adults whose parents are incarcerated. The children and young adults lack guidance and often fly under the radar within the community. The programs help builds their confidence and teaches them life skills that they obviously can’t get from their parents. The program enables them to provide the recipients with tutoring resources, movie nights, events, and other social programs that would help to lighten the load, including providing them with things for daily needs. The recipients are able to take advantage of these programs all year long. They especially were looking for donations around the holidays so that they could provide the necessary resources. I donated the $250 to the organization because the cause is very beneficial to the recipients and incarceration is at staggering rates in the metropolitan area.
