    Dog Days of Summer

My family lost our oldest dog back in May to cancer. We had Duncan since he was about 2 years old. We rescued him from the Frederick Animal Shelter, he was the best dog and was great with my kids as they grew up. My youngest daughter, who is now 16, was 2 years old when we got him. Duncan was her dog and always followed her around and she used to try and ride him around the house. He always had the patience and never had a bad reaction now matter what she did to him.

And by the way, Duncan was a pit bull, the shelter had rescued him from an owner who was trying to make fight dogs! Duncan just wasn’t that dog, he didn’t have it in him.

Well, my family and I have decided to rescue another dog this weekend. I’d like to introduce you to the newest member of our family, Bo! I like to call him BoBo. Picture attached

We rescued him from Fairfax County on Saturday. We had looked at several dogs for a couple days.

While we were there my kids were having a hard time with all the dogs who we couldn’t help. We would have loved to take them all.

So I asked them if they would like to make a RAK donation, this donation will be used to reduce the adoption fees for a couple of the dogs that have been at the shelter for a long time. We didn’t want the donation to be in our name so we explained the RAK goal of ARG to the shelter staff. Most of them couldn’t believe a company would encourage its employees to make such a contribution to the community.

If you looking for a new companion, stop by the shelter and make a few new friends of the four-legged kind.
