I headed into Walmart on my lunch break to do some shopping for the Little Free Pantry and struck up a conversation with a gentleman riding a motorized shopping cart. He asked if I could spare some change, and I told him I didn’t carry cash but would be happy to buy him some groceries. It turns out he is living in a shelter where they provide food, but he doesn’t have warm clothes for winter. I suggested that he pick out some boots and clothes while I finished my shopping, and we could meet at the checkout in 20 minutes. We met up, and he left with some warm clothes and a big smile.
