ARG is proud to once again be recognized as a Top Workplace by the Washington Post. Out of the 22,000+ companies in the region, the Post recognizes just 150 as Top Workplaces. Top workplaces are identified by an extensive employee survey of over 50,000 employees in the region. The employee survey was administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Winners were recognized at a gala at the Washington Post offices on June 15, 2017.
ARG has appeared on the Top Workplaces list every year since its inception - one of only 37 companies to achieve this level of recognition. “We take special pride in our longevity in this program,” stated Greg Praske, founder and CEO of ARG. “Many years ago, our team set out to become a top workplace. We decided that we owed it to each other to be intentional in our culture and the environment in which we work. An unexpected benefit has been our ability to attract top talent to a small company. Being recognized as a top workplace gives ARG credibility in the recruiting process as well.”
This year we were ranked #22 of the 65 Small Companies (those with <150 employees) who were chosen as Top Workplaces, up several places from the previous year. Not to be lulled into complacency with a multi-year streak under its belt, ARG has just resolved to work towards being #1 in the category. “Being #1 on the list is not the ultimate goal – but a gauge to help us measure our real passion,” continued Praske. “We strive to make ARG a better experience for our employees and then translate that level of satisfaction to our client experiences – that is our mission.”
Only six companies were selected by the Post for The Standout Awards. ARG received the award for Strong Values & Ethics. Praske commented at length: “We take great pride in the Strong Values & Ethics award. Today, values and ethics are an area that many firms simply pay lip service. At ARG, every employee understands our core values. Each person understands that, as long as they operate within those values, the organization will back them completely. Should an action appear to conflict with those values, every employee is empowered to challenge that action and escalate it to me personally if they feel it is necessary. The great thing about clearly defined values is that such escalation almost never occurs.”
ARG's mission is to be the most respected technology consulting firm in the country. ARG strives to do this by respecting clients, colleagues and our partners. The quote in the Washington Post says it best: “Management always encourages us to do what is right for the customer and genuinely cares for its’ employees.”
